Excuse me Bread & Circus, but where were you when I was living and working in Alexandria? The fresh wholesome sandwich selection you have would have been my ideal lunch - every day!! Although I would have easily spent my entire afternoon basking in the sunshine on deck chairs whilst sipping on fresh coconut juice. So maybe it is a good thing we were not acquainted earlier.

Another exciting new addition to the ever-growing restaurant scene in Canley Heights, this time with an industrial warehouse style Asian fusion restaurant and bar – Chi Chi. Drawing influences from Vietnamese, Malaysian and Thai cuisine, Chi Chi’s menu was more confusing than mouth watering. I must admit, I wasn’t wowed at first but after three visits, the dishes and peculiar names have definitely warmed to me. Would like to see new additions to the menu though, especially the ‘Happy Ending’ section. 
While the fit out and decor of Chi Chi has been tailored to a younger crowd discouraging families with young children, they were extremely accommodating when we had to bring a toddler to dinner.

Situated on busy Military Road, Mosman, St.Honoré Bakery is a favourite amongst locals. They’re known for their French style pastries and mouth-watering cake selection but the lunch menu wasn’t too bad either. The organic quinoa and prawn salad was my favourite.
 A good place to pick up freshly baked bread and pastries if you’re in the area. There are better pies elsewhere.

Located in the Norwest Business Centre is Trevi Lakeside, a contemporary fine dining Italian restaurant offering traditional hand-made pasta and contemporary dishes such as twice cooked duck. Service was attentive and impeccable, especially to a young mother’s needs, making this place perfect for families. The dishes were delightful, although my risotto was borderline undercooked and prices seemed a little on the high side.

On first impressions, Rabbit Hole Bar & Dining appears another drinks-after-work bar but don’t go on first impressions! The remarkable cocktail list alone is enough to get your taste buds racing. Thanks to in house cocktail guru, Doug Laming and his genuine quest for textures and flavours, here you will find G&T in the form of textured jellied shots and Cointreau Caviar pearls that burst in your mouth. So can you imagine what the Modern French menu created by Executive Chef Tomoyuki Usui will do to your palate?

Tokonoma is situated right next door to Toko and operates on the same food and cocktail menu. The décor and ambiance are similar except Tokonoma’s inclusion of a live DJ and the positioning of the full length bar and round lounges make Tokonoma the ideal place for a late night cocktail.
