Kaysone Sweet | Cabramatta | Sydney

Clocking in: 10/02/11 @ 17:23
Taste buds run riot every time I visit Kaysone Sweet and this time was no exception. Initially wanting just a fruit shake from the colourful array of fresh fruits, my taste buds got the better of me and ended up having a little afternoon snack instead.

Azuma | Chifley Plaza | Sydney

Clocking in: 10/02/11 @ 12:24
Being pregnant for 9 months meant that Miss A was missing the taste of fresh seafood that was once a weekly favourite. Needless to say, Japanese was our first destination and Azuma is the best place for fresh sashimi with a vast sushi assortment. Concerns for the amount of food ordered for three people were reflected for a mere five seconds but not surprisingly enough, Miss A finished everything with no difficulty, after all it has been 9 months.
Wishing there were more exciting cocktails to enjoy but the divine food and atmosphere renders my return.

Bloodwood | Newtown | Sydney

Clocking in: 09/02/11 @ 19:48
I get excited about going to a place where bookings aren’t taken. Even on a Wednesday night getting a table at Bloodwood meant we had to catch up over cocktails at another bar nearby first. Almost an hour later we were finally seated and the petite menu meant that nothing would be reluctantly left out. The tapas style dishes were satisfying without being too filling because room for dessert is highly recommended. The ingenious use of reclaimed wooden doors and impetuously hung light bulbs creates an unwinding setting perfect for reminiscing.

St. Maroun’s Church | Redfern | Sydney

Clocking in: 07/02/11 @ 15:46
The genuine affection that exuded from this place created an inescapable magnetism. I was quickly informed of the annual church fundraising event this was all about and was invited to step inside with great hospitality.
Friendly people and freshly baked Lebanese bread, of course I had to have more. The za'atar was divine but the Lebanese Bakery in Yagoona is still my favourite za'atar  producing bakery.
